Gadamer resgata o valor da tradição e explicita o desprezo feito pela Aufklärung a mesma. A questão da reabilitação da tradição enquanto fundamental para a compreensão é o que está em questão neste artigo. Um dos problemas a ser analisado é se há incompatibilidade entre razão e tradição, e se não há de que forma podemos buscar resgatar o valor da tradição como algo fundamental para a compreensão de como se dá o processo do entendimento humano. Reflete-se sobre como a produção de vídeos envolvendo problemáticas do cotidiano pode contribuir para ler o mundo por meio dos conhecimentos matemáticos aprendidos em sala de aula. Os participantes foram 15 licenciandos/as em Matemática da Universidade Estadual de Goiás, integrantes do Programa de Residência Pedagógica, em Morrinhos (GO). As reuniões com os/as licenciandos/as ocorreram semanalmente, cada uma com 1 hora e 30 minutos de duração. Nelas foram discutidos textos sobre Educação e Educação Matemática. Paralelamente à discussão dos textos, debateu-se possibilidades (...) para a produção de vídeos considerando os/as estudantes, da educação básica, como sujeitos produtores de conhecimento. Visando à produção de vídeos, em um primeiro momento foi apresentado aos/às residentes pedagógicos/as vídeos sobre possíveis situações problemáticas do cotidiano analisadas pela perspectiva da matemática e oferecidas orientações acerca da escolha da temática, da preparação de roteiros, da captação de áudio e vídeo e da edição. Foram produzidos 15 vídeos pelos/as estagiários/as e residentes pedagógicos cujos títulos foram: Covid-19; Bebida alcoólica; Universo LGBT+; Deficiência visual; Esgoto no Brasil; Agropecuária/Agronegócio; Endividamento de famílias brasileiras; Mapa da Fome; Trânsito; Jogos Digitais, Consumo de energia; Educação Financeira; Segurança do Trabalho. Cada um dos títulos supracitados contém uma sequência de 03 vídeos. Após realizarem as produções, professores formadores e acadêmicos/as discutiram sobre aprendizagens para a produção de vídeos e como ela pode contribuir com um envolvimento de estudantes em aulas de matemática. Produzir e orientar a produção desses vídeos contribuiu com a formação de professores de matemática com outras compreensões acerca dos papeis de professor e alunos na sala de aula. O processo de produzir e orientar na produção de vídeos viabilizou reflexões sobre diferentes problemáticas da vida das pessoas analisadas à luz da matemática. As orientações dos professores formadores aos acadêmicos e dos acadêmicos aos alunos da escola foram fundamentais para: escolher uma problemática, ou um assunto específico; destacar a relevância de levantar diversas fontes para a compreensão do objeto de estudos; produzir vídeos com melhor qualidade; refletir criticamente sobre problemáticas do cotidiano pela perspectiva da matemática. Parte do reconhecimento do filósofo alemão Jürgen Habermas, pertencente à segunda geração de Escola de Frankfurt, participante da tradição da teoria crítica e do pragmatismo, considerando sua importância não só nos estudos de informação, como em outros domínios. Tem como objetivo assinalar sua presença material via base de dados BRAPCI a fim de mapear em uma série de pesquisas, as influências das reflexões deste filósofo. Para este fim, nesta fase, utiliza a metodologia dos Estudos Métricos da Informação com análises dos (...) textos completos dos artigos indexados na Brapci. O resultado recupera os primeiros trabalhos indexados na BRAPCI produzidos no Brasil e fora dele; diagnostica a maior concentração de frequência em razão de um congresso (?) publicado na Revista “Comunicação & Informação” e na Revista Logeion; apresenta uma prevalência de pesquisadores no núcleo do IBICT/UFRJ e UNIRIO que mais foram influenciados por Habermas, estabelecendo uma reflexão sobre a rede de influências derivadas de orientações de Maria Nélida González de Gómez e identifica a obra mais citada “Mudança estrutural da esfera pública” a qual deverá ser o ponto de partida para a continuidade das reflexões sobre a presença do autor na literatura em CI no Brasil. La obra del chileno Roberto Bolaño ha sido objeto de números estudios que la abordan desde diferentes enfoques en la última década. Este artículo que se integra a la tesis doctoral Bolaño ou la réécriture du mythe de l’écrivain maudit propone una aproximación a los personajes que por su ocurrencia reiterada constituyen el núcleo narrativo de su obra. Se trata en esencia de caracterizar la imagen de varios personajes; tomamos el caso de Archimboldi en 2666, de varios personajes de Estrella (...) distante y de Ulises Lima en Los detectives salvajes. Para ello introducimos el concepto de imagen y analizamos los fenómenos recurrentes a los que la imagen de los personajes se confronta en los textos. Finalizamos caracterizando las imágenes de los personajes de acuerdo con la clasificación de Wunenburger en L’imagination, imagen duplicación, imagen ficción, imagen símbolo e imagen arquetipo. Au cours de la dernière décennie, l’œuvre de l’écrivain chilien Roberto Bolaño a été abordée sous différents angles. Cet article, qui s’intègre à la thèse doctorale Bolaño ou la réécriture du mythe de l’écrivain maudit, se propose d’étudier les personnages qui apparaissent de manière réitérative et qui peuvent constituer le noyau narratif de son œuvre. Il s’agit essentiellement de caractériser l’image de quelques personnages présents dans trois romans de Bolaño. On étudiera le personnage d’Archimboldi dans 2666, quelques personnages de Estrella distante et celui d’Ulises Lima dans Los detectives salvajes. Le concept d’image sera introduit et on analysera les phénomènes récurrents auxquels les images sont confrontées au sein des textes. On finira par caractériser l’image des personnages étudiés d’après la classification de Wunenburger dans L’imagination, à savoir : image duplication, image fiction, image symbole, image archétype. We take the case of Archimboldi in 2666, the one of some characters in Estrella distante, and the one of Ulises Lima in Los detectives salvajes. In order to do that, we introduce the concept of image and we analyze the current phenomena to which the texts are confronted to. This work fulfills the need for a conceptual and technical framework to improve understanding of Information Quality (IQ) and Information Quality standards. The meaning and practical implementation of IQ are addressed, as it is relevant to any field where there is a need to handle data and issues such as accessibility, accuracy, completeness, currency, integrity, reliability, timeliness, usability, the role of metrics and so forth are all a part of Information Quality. -/- In order to support the cross-fertilization of theory (...) and practice, the latest research is presented in this book. The phenomenon of distributed knowledge is well-known in epistemic logic. In this paper, a similar phenomenon in ethics, somewhat neglected so far, is investigated, namely distributed morality. The article explains the nature of distributed morality, as a feature of moral agency, and explores the implications of its occurrence in advanced information societies. In the course of the analysis, the concept of infraethics is introduced, in order to refer to the ensemble of moral enablers, which, although morally neutral per se, can (...) significantly facilitate or hinder both positive and negative moral behaviours. One of the open problems in the philosophy of information is whether there is an information logic (IL), different from epistemic (EL) and doxastic logic (DL), which formalises the relation “a is informed that p” (Iap) satisfactorily. In this paper, the problem is solved by arguing that the axiom schemata of the normal modal logic (NML) KTB (also known as B or Br or Brouwer’s system) are well suited to formalise the relation of “being informed”. After having shown that IL (...) can be constructed as an informational reading of KTB, four consequences of a KTB-based IL are explored: information overload; the veridicality thesis (Iap → p); the relation between IL and EL; and the Kp → Bp principle or entailment property, according to which knowledge implies belief. Between 2006 and 2011, humanity accumulated 1,600 EB of data. As a result of this growth, there is now more data produced than available storage. This article explores the problem of “Big Data,” arguing for an epistemological approach as a possible solution to this ever-increasing challenge.

A distinguishing characteristic of the biomedical model is its compartmentalized view of man. This way of seeing human beings has its origin in Greek thought; it was stated by Descartes and to this day it still considers humans as beings composed of distinct entities combined into a certain form. Because of this observation, one began to believe that the focus of a health treatment could be exclusively on the affected area of the body, without the need to pay attention to (...) patient’s subjectivity. By seeing pain as a merely sensory response, this model was not capable of encompassing chronic pain, since the latter is a complex process that can occur independently of tissue damage. As of the second half of the twentieth century, when it became impossible to deny the relationship between psyche and soma, the current understanding of chronic pain emerges: that of chronic pain as an individual experience, the result of a sum of physical, psychological, and social factors that, for this reason, cannot be approached separately from the individual who expresses pain. This understanding has allowed a significant improvement in perspective, emphasizing the characteristic of pain as an individual experience. However, the understanding of chronic pain as a sum of factors corresponds to the current way of seeing the process of falling ill, for its conception holds a Cartesian duality and the positivist premise of a single reality. For phenomenology, on the other hand, the individual in his/her unity is more than a simple sum of parts. Phenomenology sees a human being as an intending entity, in which body, mind, and the world are intertwined and constitute each other mutually, thus establishing the human being’s integral functioning. Therefore, a real understanding of the chronic pain process would only be possible from a phenomenological point of view at the experience lived by the individual who expresses and communicates pain. Esta teoría, que ocupa un lugar central en la biología evolutiva, se encuentra en el centro de la revolución darwiniana, uno de los cambios más radicales ocurridos en la historia de la ciencia y, sin dudas, uno de los que más consecuencias han tenido sobre la ciencia (...) en general, sobre la filosofía y sobre el mismo modo en que nos percibimos en el mundo. -/- Si bien se trata de una teoría que parece sencilla de comprender, ha sido especialmente elusiva a los intentos de reconstrucción, no hay acuerdo con respecto a su estructura ni a cuáles son sus conceptos fundamentales. En este trabajo, asumiendo el marco conceptual brindado por el estructuralismo metateórico, se propone una reconstrucción que permite no solo dar cuenta adecuadamente del modo en que la teoría funciona en la práctica científica actual, sino que, además, permite explicitar la importancia filosófica antes aludida. -/- Frente a los desacuerdos marcados en la filosofía de la biología, pero también en textos y manuales de los biólogos evolutivos, respecto del modo de presentación adecuado y la naturaleza de la teoría, la estrategia reconstructiva consiste en discutir la teoría en su origen, tal como apareció en los textos de uno de sus codescubridores, Charles Darwin. Previous research has shown that student plagiarism is the product of interplay between individual and situational factors. The present study examined the relationship between these two sets of factors with a particular focus on variables linked to students’ academic context namely, their perception of peer behaviors, their experience of adversities in academic life, and their year of enrollment. So far, these situational features have received scant attention in studies of plagiarism conducted in most of Europe. A survey was carried out (...) in a European higher education institution, involving a sample of 427 undergraduates. The data was analyzed via both conventional univariate and bivariate statistical analysis, and multivariate, multilevel modeling. The results suggest that awareness of peer plagiarizing and the experience of hardships in academic life, rather than level of academic achievement or year of study, are significantly related to plagiarizing, whereas heightened perception of the seriousness of plagiarism is associated with a lower likelihood of this type of behavior. The study also shows that students who plagiarize are more likely to be involved in other types of academic misconduct. (shrink)

This is a draft of my chapter on Negligence for the forthcoming Oxford Handbook in Moral Psychology. It discusses philosophical, psychological, and legal approaches to the attribution of culpability in cases of negligent wrongdoing.

This paper argues that habits, just like beliefs, can guide intentional action. To do this, a variety of real-life cases where a person acts habitually but contrary to her beliefs are discussed. The cases serve as dissociations showing that intentional agency is possible without doxastic guidance. The upshot is a model for thinking about the rationality of habitual action and the rationalizing role that habits can play in it. La teoría de la selección natural explicaría el mismo fenómeno que los teólogos naturales querían explicar: la adaptación. Recientemente ha sido señalado, sin embargo, que la forma darwiniana de conceptualizar la adaptación es novedosa. Las adaptaciones de la teología natural presupondrían la idea de que los organismos existen para la realización y manutención del equilibrio natural establecido por el creador. El (...) punto de este trabajo discutir esta cuestión, asumiendo el marco del estructuralismo metateórico. The strong influence that natural theology had over Darwin’s conceptualization of the adaptation phenomenon is frequently noted. The natural selection theory would explain the same phenomenon that the natural theologist intended to explain: the adaptation. Recently has been claimed, on the contrary, that the Darwinian way of conceptualizing adaptation is new. The concept of adaptation from natural theology presupposes the idea that organisms exist for realization and support of the natural equilibrium stated by the creator. In this work I will discuss this point, assuming the metatheoretical structuralism frame. (shrink)

The concept of fitness has generated a lot of discussion in philosophy of biology. There is, however, relative agreement about the need to distinguish at least two uses of the term: ecological fitness on the one hand, and population genetics fitness on the other. The goal of this paper is to give an explication of the concept of ecological fitness by providing a reconstruction of the theory of natural selection in which this concept was framed, that is, based on the (...) way the theory was put to use in Darwin’s main texts. I will contend that this reconstruction enables us to account for the current use of the theory of natural selection. The framework presupposed in the analysis will be that of metatheoretical structuralism. This framework will provide both a better understanding of the nature of ecological fitness and a more complete reconstruction of the theory. In particular, it will provide what I think is a better way of understanding how the concept of fitness is applied through heterogeneous cases. One of the major advantages of my way of thinking about natural selection theory is that it would not have the peculiar metatheoretical status that it has in other available views. I will argue that in order to achieve these goals it is necessary to make several concepts explicit, concepts that are frequently omitted in usual reconstructions. (shrink)

Semantic information is usually supposed to satisfy the veridicality thesis: p qualifies as semantic information only if p is true. However, what it means for semantic information to be true is often left implicit, with correspondentist interpretations representing the most popular, default option. The article develops an alternative approach, namely a correctness theory of truth (CTT) for semantic information. This is meant as a contribution not only to the philosophy of information but also to the philosophical debate on the nature (...) of truth. After the introduction, in Sect. 2, semantic information is shown to be translatable into propositional semantic information (i). In Sect. 3, i is polarised into a query (Q) and a result (R), qualified by a specific context, a level of abstraction and a purpose. This polarization is normalised in Sect. 4, where [Q + R] is transformed into a Boolean question and its relative yes/no answer [Q + A]. This completes the reduction of the truth of i to the correctness of A. In Sects. 5 and 6, it is argued that (1) A is the correct answer to Q if and only if (2) A correctly saturates Q by verifying and validating it (in the computer science’s sense of verification and validation ); that (2) is the case if and only if (3) [Q + A] generates an adequate model (m) of the relevant system (s) identified by Q; that (3) is the case if and only if (4) m is a proxy of s (in the computer science’s sense of proxy ) and (5) proximal access to m commutes with the distal access to s (in the category theory’s sense of commutation ); and that (5) is the case if and only if (6) reading/writing (accessing, in the computer science’s technical sense of the term) m enables one to read/write (access) s. Sect. 7 provides some further clarifications about CTT, in the light of semantic paradoxes. Section 8 draws a general conclusion about the nature of CTT as a theory for systems designers not just systems users. En On the Origin of Species Darwin distingue explícitamente entre tres tipos de selección: la selección natural, la artificial y la sexual. En este trabajo, a partir de un estudio más sistemático que historiográfico, se intenta encontrar la relación entre estos tres tipos de selección en la obra de Darwin. Si bien la distinción entre estos distintos mecanismos es de suma importancia en la obra de Darwin, la tesis de este trabajo es que tanto la selección artificial como la sexual (...) no son mecanismos distintos de la selección natural. What follows is an attempt to interpret Hegel’s Introduction to thePhilosophy of Rightin a way that explores the thesis of reason’s social character in light of the recent debate on Hegel’s theory of practical normativity. The discussion aims to highlight Hegel’s commitment to a ‘reconstructive’ version of the ‘immanent transcendence’ motive of Critical Theory and, more generally, to a programmatic critique of ‘deficient’ rationality and its effects on practice.

Philosophical accounts of moral responsibility are standardly framed by two platitudes. According to them, blame requires the presence of a moral defect in the agent and the absence of excuses. In this chapter, this kind of approach is challenged. It is argued that (a) people sometimes violate moral norms due to performance mistakes, (b) it often appears reasonable to hold them responsible for it, and (c) their mistakes cannot be traced to their moral qualities or to the presence of excuses. What is the ultimate nature of reality? This paper defends an answer in terms of informational realism (IR). It does so in three stages. First, it is shown that, within the debate about structural realism (SR), epistemic (ESR) and ontic (OSR) structural realism are reconcilable by using the methodology of the levels of abstractions. It follows that OSR is defensible from a structuralist-friendly position. Second, it is argued that OSR is also plausible, because not all related objects are logically prior (...) to all relational structures. The relation of difference is at least as fundamental as (because constitutive of) any relata. Third, it is suggested that an ontology of structural objects for OSR can reasonably be developed in terms of informational objects, and that Object Oriented Programming provides a flexible and powerful methodology with which to clarify and make precise the concept of “informational object”. The outcome is informational realism, the view that the world is the totality of informational objects dynamically interacting with each other.. (shrink)

This paper defends a version of the Simple View, the claim that someone intentionally φs only if the person intends to φ. To do this, I raise a problem for Bratman’s classic argument (1984, 1987) against it. The problem brings into focus an evaluative dimension behind the View, whose recognition allows for an improved version of it. With this improved version, I then go on to answer other criticisms that have been raised to it.

The scientific revolution of the XVII siècle is normally described as erasing final causes and the teleology of physics. Nevertheless, the functional language plays a central role in certain areas of biological practice. This is why many philosophers have tried to explicate the concept of function, sometimes to defend the relevance of its use, some other times to show that it is merely a way of speaking that could be easily eliminated without any relevant information loss. The principal purpose of (...) this paper is to show the necessity of appealing to functional concepts for an adequate reconstruction of the Darwinian natural selection theory. Thus, functional language is used in the conceptualization of the theory’s domain of application, and that domain should be determined independently of the natural selection theory. (shrink)

In this article, I examine recent debates concerning the existence and the nature of basic actions. The discussion is structured around four theses, with which Arthur Danto introduced basic actions to contemporary theorists. The theses concern (i) the relationship between agency and causality, (ii) the distinction between basic and complex actions, (iii) the regress argument for basic actions, and (iv) the structure of practical knowledge in the light of these actions.

In this review, I discuss recent advances in philosophical and psychological approaches to self-control. The review is divided in 4 parts, in which I discuss: a) different conceptions of self-control; b) standard methods for studying it; c) some models of how self-control is exercised; and d) the connections between self-control and other relevant psychological constructs. The review was originally commissioned by the John Templeton Foundation to provide an informative overview that would knit together different strands of current debates in the (...) field. :In this essay, I present an account of forgiveness as a process of emotional distancing. The central claim is that, understood in these terms, forgiveness does not require a change in judgment. Rationally forgiving someone, in other words, does not require that one judges the significance of the wrongdoing differently or that one comes to the conclusion that the attitudes behind it have changed in a favorable way. The model shows in what sense forgiving is inherently social, shows why we (...) should be pluralists about it, and provides a basis for arguing against the existence of necessary conditions of forgiving. Aunque parece una teoría relativamente simple, la teoría de la selección natural ha traído muchas discusiones al respecto de su reconstrucción. En particular, los autores han tenido dificultades a la hora de elucidar el concepto de aptitud (fitness) adecuadamente. El punto de vista de este trabajo consiste en que para entender adecuadamente esta cuestión, y además, para dar cuenta de manera adecuada de las explicaciones seleccionistas, tanto las dadas por Darwin como sus aplicaciones más actuales, es necesario a la hora (...) de reconstruir la teoría utilizar más conceptos de los que habitualmente se utilizan. En este trabajo se explayará sobre este punto y se presentará una reconstrucción de la teoría en cuestión con las herramientas del estructuralismo metateórico. -/- Title: Structuralist Reconstruction of Natural Selection Theory Abstract: Despite seeming relatively simple Natural Selection Theory has brought up many discussions regarding its reconstruction. In particular, many authors have had difficulties in explicating the concept of fitness. The point of view of this paper is that more concepts are needed in order to, on the one hand, understand more adequately this issue, and on the other hand, to account for selectionist explanations, both Darwin’s and current applications, in an adequate way. It is widely assumed that perception is a source of reasons (SR). There is a weak sense in which this claim is trivially true: even if one characterizes perception in purely causal terms, perceptual beliefs originate from the mind's interaction with the world. When philosophers argue for (SR), however, they have a stronger view in mind: they claim that perception provides pre- or non-doxastic reasons for belief. In this article I examine some ways of developing this view and criticize them. (...) I exploit these results to formulate a series of constraints that a satisfactory account of the epistemic role of perception should fulfil. I also make a positive suggestion: coherentists are right when they claim that only beliefs can be reasons for other beliefs. Nevertheless, I depart from traditional coherentism, for I do not buy its conception of perception as bare sensation, nor explicate the justificatory status of beliefs in terms of coherence. My point is rather that, when one invokes experience to justify a belief, the justifying state must have structural features of beliefs. (shrink)

In this paper we propose an approach to multi-source belief revision where the trust or credibility assigned to informant agents can be revised. In our proposal, the credibility of each informant represented as a strict partial order among informant agents, will be maintained in a repository called credibility base. Upon arrival of new information concerning the credibility of its peers, an agent will be capable of revising this strict partial order, changing the trust assigned to its peers accordingly. Our goal (...) is to formalize a set of change operators over the credibility base: expansion, contraction, prioritized, and non-prioritized revision. These operators will provide the capability of dynamically modifying the credibility of informants considering the reliability of the information. En este artículo, se pretende brindar una nueva perspectiva al respecto de la atribución de funciones en biología. La idea consiste en considerar que los conceptos funcionales son conceptos primitivos de una teoría científica, tal como desarrollada por Darwin en sus textos sobre la fecundación cruzada. Intentaré mostrar que teorías, que hacen ese uso de los conceptos funcionales, tienen características sintomáticas de teorías consideradas habitualmente genuinas y compararé mi enfoque con otros alternativos acerca de las funciones. Resumo: Este artigo pretende contribuir para a elucidação da nossa compreensão sobre a educação, sobre os fenômenos e processos educacionais, que constituem uma ocupação e uma preocupação humana fundamental. O método que utilizamos nesta pesquisa consistiu, num primeiro momento, de uma análise etimológica da palavra latina educo, da qual derivou a palavra educação em português, e, num segundo momento, da interpretação de alguns sentidos da palavra educo à luz de algumas ideias da filosofia da educação, encontradas em cada um dos (...) quatro períodos da história da filosofia. Concluímos constatando que, através de nossa análise, pudemos contribuir para expandir os limites do nosso conhecimento sobre a educação. On Education Abstract: This article aims to contribute to elucidate our understanding on the education, the educational phenomena and processes, which constitute a fundamental human occupation and preoccupation. The method we used in this research consisted, in a first moment, of an etymological analysis of the latin word educo, of which derived the word educação in Portuguese, and, in a second moment, of the interpretation of some senses of the word educo in light of some ideas of the philosophy of education, found in each one of the four periods of the history of philosophy. We conclude noting that, through our analysis, we could contribute for the expansion of the limits of our knowledge on education. La méthode utilisée dans cette recherche a consisté, dans un premier temps, en une analyse étymologique du mot latin educo, dont est dérivé le mot éducation en portugais, et, dans un second temps, en l'interprétation de certains sens du mot educo dans le lumière de quelques idées de la philosophie de l'éducation, trouvées dans chacune des quatre périodes de l'histoire de la philosophie. Este artigo pretende investigar a concepção kantiana de opinião pública que tem como pressuposto fundamental a inalienável tarefa crítico-deliberativa do cidadão perante a guerra e a corrupção do poder público que advém da violação dos princípios normativos do contrato originário. A opinião pública em Kant é alicerçada em pressupostos morais, antropológicos, culturais, jurídicos e políticos e está vinculada à idéia republicana de Estado. De acordo com essa idéia, a decisão sobre a possibilidade da realização da guerra e o combate às (...) injustiças dentro do Estado de direito através de uma revolução negativa é direito e dever dos cidadãos. Neste artigo pretendemos discutir qual o papel da autoridade na formação dos indivíduos, tendo como base o pensamento de T. W. Adorno, nos aprofundando especificamente em suas reflexões do livro Educação e Emancipação. Explicarei a importância que a família tem na formação, sobretudo, a figura de autoridade paterna durante a infância, e como ela sofreu mudanças na passagem do capitalismo liberal para o capitalismo tardio. Essas mudanças têm grande impacto na formação, pois, a partir da perda de autoridade da família (...) no capitalismo tardio, vemos a conseqüente fragilização da individualidade. Influenciado pela psicanálise de Freud, o pensador frankfurtiano faz uma crítica social muito profunda, mostrando como acontecimentos políticos e econômicos estão ligados ao processo de formação e como influenciam na estrutura psíquica dos indivíduos (criação do superego), tendo reflexos em sua personalidade e comportamento. Com a decadência do capitalismo liberal e da família burguesa a figura paterna não exerce mais a autoridade que exercia outrora. Assim, o complexo edipiano não é resolvido, podendo originar uma personalidade autoritária, contudo, esta etapa de identificação deve ser superada, ela é apenas uma fase importante para incorporação de normas básicas para a vida social durante a primeira infância. Após esta fase o indivíduo passa por um processo de amadurecimento, começa a elaborar as regras internalizadas conforme sua experiência de vida, passa a confrontar seus ideais da infância com a sua realidade presente e, conseqüentemente, reflete de maneira crítica. Este artigo trata da memória sobre a comida do passado por meio de relatos de pessoas inseridas na categoria de velhos/idosos no Brasil, aquelas acima de 60 anos. Envolvem recordações sobre como eram a alimentação e a comida da infância. Todas as 14 pessoas com quem conversamos optaram por falar das memórias ligadas, sobretudo, ao afeto e aos bons momentos, mesmo quando entremeavam no relato algumas dificuldades de escassez alimentar ou de pobreza. Foram entrevistadas pessoas idosas com idade entre 65 (...) e 84 anos. Todas elas residentes da região Sudoeste do Paraná, a maioria é descendente de italianos, alemães e poloneses. Quase todas nasceram no Rio Grande do Sul ou em Santa Catarina e se mudaram para a referida região depois de adultas, quando da política da Marcha para Oeste, do governo Getúlio Vargas em início da década de 1940. As lembranças trouxeram curiosidades a respeito de práticas alimentares, modos de fazer e uso de termos sobre comida onde mesclam a língua originária dos seus avós/pais, colonos, com a língua portuguesa, criando dialetos. Os depoimentos foram em vários momentos emotivos, trazendo muitas lembranças agradáveis, e outras nem tanto, mas foram considerados pelas idosas (os) que se dispuseram a contar um momento importante, tido como uma oportunidade de falar um pouco do passado para pessoas interessadas em escutá-las. O método foi qualitativo, usando a ferramenta principal da história oral. (shrink)

Investigar a substância epistemológica da psicanálise pressupõe o atravessamento de um conjunto de autores que navegam por essas marés, e que nos convidam a nós leitores a desbravar os mares agitados e taciturnos da jornada psicanalítica. A aventura sobre a qual o leitor é convidado a atravessar em psicanálise certamente é bordeada por um percurso incerto, arriscado, e naturalmente angustiante. No entanto, vez ou outra, as circunstâncias do Real fazem emergir alguns personagens que tornam essa jornada mais fluida e encorajadora, (...) oferecendo-nos alguns resíduos conceituais e operacionais que nos despertam interesse e curiosidade, servindo como um guia de viagem, ou seja, há livros que caem em nossas mãos como um mapa, e assim como todo mapa em uma aventura fictícia: nos conduz a um valioso tesouro. O mapa sobre a qual o leitor possui a possibilidade de se aventurar, se trata do livro publicado em 2018 pela editora Blucher, “A Bruxa Metapsicologia e seus Destinos”, organizado por um dos grandes nomes da Filosofia da Psicanálise no Brasil, Leopoldo Fulgencio, além de outros nomes caricaturais, como Richard Simanke, Antonio Imasciati e Martine Girard. O livro é resultado de inúmeras pesquisas que vêm sendo realizadas há mais de décadas pelos autores, direcionando-nos às indagações não somente em um caráter histórico e epistemológico da psicanálise, mas despertando possibilidades de reconfigurações epistemológicas, dando novos formatos de existência às novas práticas científicas do século XXI. O valioso tesouro sobre o qual o mapa conduz a nós leitores, refere-se não somente à leve e agradável compreensão em relação a epistemologia da psicanálise e seus elementos associados, assim como as propostas apresentadas pelos autores em nos guiar imperceptivelmente ao núcleo da filosofia da psicanálise, endereçando-nos como que espontaneamente em um percurso conceitual que atravessa a natureza da metapsicologia, a sua função no panorama do desenvolvimento da psicanálise e suas repercussões epistemológicas dentro do cenário da filosofia da psicanálise. Além de navegarem conceitual e historicamente pela natureza da metapsicologia dentro da atmosfera intelectual do início do século XX, também apontam elementos que nos fazem pensar sobre qual é o destino da metapsicologia a partir do século XXI, considerando novas formatações epistemológicas e filosóficas. Como sabemos que é impossível abarcar a experiência em sua totalidade, me arrisco aqui em exprimir em palavras um recorte parcial dessa experiência, buscando expressar em forma de uma resenha quais foram as impressões teóricas, epistemológicas e filosóficas designadas ao leitor que se propõe a ler o livro “A Bruxa Metapsicologia e seus Destinos”. Destaco, sobretudo, que a metáfora utilizada sobre o livro como um mapa e seu conteúdo como um tesouro, não possui qualidade unicamente estilística, mas sobretudo, conceitual, uma vez que a metáfora e a ficção possuem um valor epistemológico constituinte dentro da metapsicologia, conforme será explorado adiante. Este artigo pretende examinar a relação entre cidadão e Estado na teoria jurídicofilosófica de Hegel e, concomitantemente, analisar como os elementos determinantes dessa relação incidem no projeto hegeliano de concretização da liberdade. A obra fundamental para essa análise será “Princípios da Filosofia do Direito” (FD) [Grundlinien der Philosophie des Rechts], originalmente publicada em 1821. A hipótese central que servirá como fio condutor dessa pesquisa é a idéia de que há na Filosofia do Direito de Hegel uma contradição do seu projeto (...) de liberdade que advém da supremacia do Estado perante o cidadão. Resumen: Usualmente se ha asumido que una única distinción puede dar cuenta del rol que cumplen los conceptos en una teoría respecto de la contrastación y respecto de la explicación. Intentaremos mostrar que esta asunción es incorrecta. Por una parte, no hay razones para considerar que esta coincidencia deba darse, y por otra, como se intentará mostrar a partir de varios ejemplos, de hecho, no se da. La base de contrastación de una teoría no tiene por qué coincidir con el (...) explanandum de la teoría. Para defender este punto se asumirá el estructuralismo metateórico. Se extraerán consecuencias para la concepción metateórica presupuesta. We will demonstrate that this assumption is incorrect. On the one hand, there is no reason to think that this coincidence should exist. On the other, this is not the case, as we will show analysing several examples. The testing basis of a theory does not have to coincide with the explanandum of the theory. To defend this point we will endorse de metatheoretical structuralism. In addition, we will consider some repercussions that this discussion has for the assumed metatheoretical framework. Para algunos la selección natural se identifica con las diferencias de éxito de distintos organismos en la reproducción diferencial. Si esto fuese así, el principio de Hardy-Weinberg, por permitir determinar con bastante precisión bajo ciertos supuestos que la frecuencia génica en una población no es la esperada, podría ser visto como una versión cuantitativa de la selección natural cualitativa propuesta por Darwin. Es mi intención mostrar, a través del análisis de explicaciones dadas por Darwin, que la selección natural es más (...) que la mera diferencia en el éxito en la reproducción diferencial e investigar algunas relaciones entre la teoría de la selección natural y la genética de poblaciones. Algunos aspectos de La expresión de las emociones de Charles Darwin pueden resultar intrigantes, pues, en la explicación de cómo tales expresiones se originan, Darwin casi nunca apela a la selección natural. En cambio, apela principalmente a la idea de que movimientos voluntarios se asocian a emociones, volviéndose por hábito innatos e involuntarios al heredarse a la descendencia. Si bien Darwin da varias razones para defender esta explicación, en este trabajo trataré de mostrar que, si se entiende el libro sobre (...) las expresiones en relación con los objetivos explícitos e implícitos de El origen del hombre, el asunto se entiende mejor. En particular, resulta interesante la tesis que Desmond y Moore plantean respecto a la importancia de los ideales antiesclavistas de Darwin a la hora del tratamiento de las razas. Defenderé en este trabajo que el enfoque de Desmond y Moore puede extenderse al libro acerca de las expresiones. Específicamente, estableceré vínculos entre la explicación del origen de las razas y la explicación del origen del rubor. Conceptual congruency effects are biases induced by an irrelevant conceptual dimension of a task (e.g., location in vertical space) on the processing of another, relevant dimension (e.g., judging words’ emotional evaluation). Such effects are a central empirical pillar for recent views about how the mind/brain represents concepts. In the present paper, we show how attentional cueing (both exogenous and endogenous) to each conceptual dimension succeeds in modifying both the manifestation and the symmetry of the effect. The theoretical implications of this (...) finding are discussed. (shrink)

O presente trabalho tem por objetivo demonstrar os alcances e limites das Teorias Biologizantes da consciência. Atualmente esse tema vem assumindo proeminência nas pesquisas não só desenvolvidas pelas neurociências, mas, sobretudo pelos filósofos e demais pesquisadores das ciências humanas. Reconhecemos a imensa contribuição que as concepções biologizantes trouxeram ao estudo da consciência, sobretudo exorcizando o “espírito” cartesiano da agenda científica. Por outro lado, essa concepção não conseguiu explicar quais os mecanismos envolvidos no processo de constituição da subjetividade. Se o cérebro (...) causa a consciência, então estamos diante de um problema epistemológico, cuja solução exige uma compreensão dos mecanismos biológicos envolvidos. Porém, o que ocorre é que, talvez, explicitar esses mecanismos não seja uma condição suficiente para desvendarmos a consciência. (shrink)
